Wool — Sweaters
Air before you wash. Wool freshens itself — hang it outside or by an open window between wears.
Wash rarely, cold and gentle. Hand wash or wool cycle at max 30°C with wool detergent. No softener.
Dry flat. Press out water in a towel, never wring. Lay flat to dry, away from heat. No tumble dryer.
Fold, don't hang. Hangers stretch the shoulders. Bobbles? Remove them gently with a wool comb.
Cotton — Cardigans & bandanas
Inside out, 30°C. Wash with similar colours on a gentle cycle to keep the colour deep.
Skip the dryer. Line dry or lay flat. Natural cotton can shrink in high heat.
Reshape while damp. Gently pull seams and hems back into shape before drying.
Iron on medium. Iron the cardigan inside out, and fold knits instead of hanging them.
